Louisiana legislation 2025 session has started on April 7, 2025, at the Capital in Baton Rouge. The regular session will convene at noon on Monday, April 14th. Each Congress sits in two sessions lasting approximately one year.
“The Louisiana House of Representatives is composed of 105 members, each elected for a four-year term. The House of Representatives, together with the state Senate, constitutes the Louisiana Legislature. The duties of the legislature include consideration of proposed laws and resolutions, consideration of proposed constitutional amendments for submission to the voters, and appropriation of all funds for the operation of state government. All bills for raising revenue considered by the legislature must originate in the House of Representatives.”
